Eight casts down one cord, a tide-line hung in the air.

Barnacle Fall, Eight is the cluster suspended: eight hand-blown casts threaded down a single semi-rigid cloth cord, each lit from within by a warm low-voltage LED, dimmable at the wall. The cord takes a set, so the fall can drop plumb or drift off the vertical and hold it.

Blown and cast by hand in a natural mould. Dimensions, colour and texture vary from the photographs; no two pieces match, including yours.

Story

The standalone Barnacles asked the obvious question: what happens when you hang more than one? Barnacle Fall is the answer — the same single-pour casts, strung down one cord so they read as a run, a tide-line lifted off the shore and into the room.

Eight is the quiet version. It lights like the single piece, gathering where the glass thickens, falling away where it thins — just eight times over, top to bottom.

The light

A warm low-voltage LED sits where the cast runs thickest. The glass does the shading: thick sections go deep and quiet, thin sections go bright, and the bark's texture decides which is which.

It is house light, not task light. Hang it low over a table or alone in a hallway and let the wall carry the glow. It is happiest at dusk and after.

There is nothing to maintain. Dust it when you think of it.
