A low cast that clings close, lit at the rim.
Balano Sconce is a low wall piece: hand-blown glass cast in a shallow natural plate, lit at the rim by a warm low-voltage LED, dimmable at the wall. The hardware sits behind the glass, so on the wall it reads as glass alone; the cloth cord can be dropped in view or hidden in the mount.
Blown and cast by hand in a natural mould. Dimensions, colour and texture vary from the photographs; no two pieces match, including yours.

Story
Balano is the flattest piece we make, cast from a shallow natural plate, it sits low and close, more shell than vessel.
Lit, the light gathers at the rim and leaves the centre quiet.

The light
A warm low-voltage LED sits where the cast runs thickest. The glass does the shading: thick sections go deep and quiet, thin sections go bright, and the bark's texture decides which is which.
It is house light, not task light. Hang it low over a table or alone in a hallway and let the wall carry the glow. It is happiest at dusk and after.
There is nothing to maintain. Dust it when you think of it.
